Cardijn Connect W1, T1 2023
Introducing Cardijn Connect - a source of news and information for the Cardijn community. The blog will be published every Thursday during the school term with past editions always accessible from the menu.
It has been wonderful to welcome all new and returning students to Cardijn College to begin the 2023 school year. At Marian Campus, our Year 7 students were warmly welcomed by our Year 12 students on Monday as they were taken on tours of the College and enjoyed an ice cream at lunch time.
On our Marcellin Campus, Year 10 students were welcomed with a morning Assembly, with Year 11 and 12 students joining the Year 10s on Tuesday.
Our redeveloped electrotechnology suite has provided more students with access to hands-on learning opportunities is STEM topics, in a space that integrates 3rd-year electro apprecentices and current students with teachers and trainers.
At Galilee Campus, the Year 7 students were excited to begin the year in our brand new building.
Our 2023 College Captains Aden and Alex recently caught up with new Principal Mr Steve Byrne.
They took the opportunity to ask Mr Byrne a few questions to learn more about what makes him tick, his passion for Marist education and to ask the all-important football team question.
SEQTA Engage is a powerful tool providing an overview for Year 7-12 parents/caregivers of their child’s learning. It also provides a communication channel for parents and teachers enabling greater collaboration and aims to enhance learning outcomes for students.
All new Year 7-12 parents/caregivers will have received an invitation to set up SEQTA Engage from the College IT team. Please check your email for this important information and make contact with our IT team should you have any queries on 8392 9500 or IT@cardijn.catholic.edu.au.
From the Principal
So, school for 2023 is underway! Many thanks to all our parents and caregivers who ensured our young people were well prepared to commence the year. Well done, also, to the students for their readiness and positive attitudes and smiles as they walked through the gates; and to the generous and capable staff who greeted them enthusiastically.
I think the standouts for me were the Galilee Reception students, the Marian (Noarlunga Campus) Year 7s and the many parents in attendance and the Marcellin Year 10s. Each of these students is commencing a particular journey at Cardijn and we look forward to their growth and achievements.
In conclusion, I am excited about my Cardijn journey as well! Many thanks to all across the community who have provided a very friendly welcome and please don’t hesitate to introduce yourself to me – even if I can’t guarantee I’ll remember all the names!
Best wishes for a great year at Cardijn!
