We are delighted to share that our Galilee Aerobics Team finished in 1st place at the National Schoolaerobics Championships at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, making them the national champions!
This result is a great reflection of all the hard work the girls have put in, giving up their own play times for the past few months.
Their competition performance was judged on a number of compulsories being executed well which included synchronisation, showmanship and artistic composition. The girls improved in all of these areas since the state qualifiers.
Thank you for the support of all families involved, committing to a few early Saturday mornings to get the girls to the competitions. A special thanks also to their fantastic coach Ms Andrea Pengilly for her hard work and dedication to this team.
This week, students and staff at each campus celebrated Mass to honour the Blessed Virgin Mary as she is assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.
Her life serves as an inspiration for us all - a woman of unwavering faith, humility, and devotion.
Just as Mary's assumption symbolises the promise of eternal life, let us also remember the importance of striving for spiritual growth and embracing the blessings that come from nurturing our relationship with God.
🏃♀️🏃 The SACPSSA Cross Country Carnival at the city parklands brought together Galilee student athletes from Years 3 to 6 to compete against more than 35 schools from across Adelaide.
We congratulate all participants for their outstanding efforts on the day. Special acknowledgements go to Ayla, Harriet, Fynn and Zac who finished the course in the top 5 runners for their age division.
Congratulations to our amazing soccer robotics teams for their outstanding performance in the face of tough competition this year at the RoboCup Junior State Competition, where one of our teams took out 3rd place. We also acknowledge Marley's wonderful solo achievement advancing to the finals in the sumo category, where two robots battle within a circular arena, vying to push their opponent out of bounds.
The event, held at St. Peters College, provided an opportunity for our Year 5 and 6 Robotics Club students to showcase their skills by crafting robots programmed to play soccer. Once again, our students have done Galilee proud with their hard work and dedication.
The BRIDGE School Partnerships Program is a flagship initiative of the Australia-Indonesia Institute, administered by the Asia Education Foundation. Since its inception in 2008, this program has continually operated to foster stronger intercultural connections and deeper engagement.
This dynamic program not only enriches educators' professional expertise, skills, and knowledge, but also enables students to develop their language skills as well as form connections with their counterparts in partner schools.
Last week we had the privilege of hosting Sri and Nur, esteemed members of our partner school from Indonesia, here at Cardijn. Throughout the week, Sri and Nur engaged with staff and students, sharing their rich culture through food, language and arts activities.
This week students from Galilee’s Youth Environment Group along with two Year 11 students from Marian Campus attended the Vales Forum, connecting students from neighbouring local schools.
The forum was conducted by Jeremy Gramp, representing NRM Environmental Education at Southern Vales Christian College.
The students participated in a number of environmental activities including soil testing, constructing newspaper pots for propagating and creating clay native animals.
During a guided tour, participants were privileged to witness examples of sustainable practices within a school context.
Congratulations to our outstanding First XI Soccer and Open Boys Football teams as they reached the Grand Finals this week!
Although both sides displayed remarkable skill and determination, they both encountered fierce competition and were unfortunately defeated in their matches. Despite the final scores, we celebrate the success both teams have had throughout this season in their respective sports.
Their dedication, hard work and sportsmanship have shone brightly, and they should feel a deep sense of pride for their achievements. We commend both teams for representing Cardijn with excellence and look forward to their continued success in the future.
Every year in August, schools, early learning centres and libraries across the country celebrate Book Week. This year’s theme is Read. Grow. Inspire and Marian Campus will celebrate with a range of lunchtime activities throughout next week.
Monday – Kahoot! in the Resource Centre
Tuesday – The Great Cardijn Book Sale. All books $1. Money raised will be donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
Wednesday (Australian School Library Day) – A-Z of Books & Emoji Quiz
Thursday – Dress Up Competition. Dress up as your favourite character from a story. Prizes for best dressed. Please note: participating students must travel to and from school in their College uniform and get changed on-site.
Friday – Author Talk and the announcement of the CBCA Book of the Year winners
Morning notices – Guess Who Competition
We would also like to congratulate the students involved in Book Club who have been shadow judges for the Children’s Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Award in the Younger Readers category. The group engaged with the six shortlisted novels selected for middle years readers and had to come to a consensus as to which text to give their vote. Not an easy task! We are excited to find out the official winners next Friday!
We look forward to celebrating all things reading and storytelling with the Marian Campus students next week.
In honour of National Homelessness Week, our YCS team organised a small action to support Hutt Street Centre’s Walk a Mile in My Boots initiative, to raise awareness and funds for the 7,000 people experiencing homelessness in South Australia.
Bright and early on Thursday morning, almost 40 students ranging from Years 7 to 12 gathered to walk one mile around the soccer pitch, a simple but powerful gesture of solidarity with the homeless community. In just under a fortnight, we were able to raise almost $2,000. Proposed, organised and led by our students, this initiative achieved impressive results - even in such a short period of time. This small action was just the beginning of what we hope to achieve in future years to support this great cause.
Thank you to everyone in our community who supported this action, and to anyone who was able to donate - we are incredibly grateful!
Our Year 10 Marcellin students were put to the test in the Automotive workshop, demonstrating their skills in a fast-paced wheel change at the 'Pit Stop'.
Congratulations to Lincoln, who was named the challenge winner with a superb time of 31 seconds!
Are you or do you know someone who:
- Has expressed an interest in being Catholic?
- Was baptised Catholic as a child, but has not celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist?
We offer an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our faith. Sessions focus on the teachings and experience of Church and prepare individuals to celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist during the Easter season. There are separate sessions for children or youth.
You are welcome to participate in the process with your questions, your insights and faith story in a warm accepting setting. For information, please contact St Luke’s Parish Office on 8382 1717 or email nswcp@tpg.com.au.
From the Deputy Principal
On Tuesday we celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of Mary with five Masses held across our three campuses. This is an important celebration for us as a Marist community as we recognise Mary, the Mother of Jesus. In the Way of Mary, we are encouraged to live our lives with courage, strength, and conviction, balanced with deep faith and tenderness.
Continuing with the theme of courage, tomorrow we recognise an important day on our school calendar, the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence. This is an important day as we stand united as a school community against the abhorrent behaviour that is bullying. The theme for this year is, ‘Growing Connections’ and how connectedness is crucial in the prevention of bullying. We encourage you to engage your child in conversation, helping them to recognise their connections and reinforcing that they are truly known and loved, In the Way of Mary.

Welcome to Cardijn College
