Young minds set sail on a sea of knowledge at Galilee Campus! It was smooth sailing for day one, and with our collective efforts, let's ensure we anchor a course for smooth sailing throughout the rest of the year and beyond as we navigate the seas of learning together.
Enjoy the warmth in these snapshots of students on their first day at Marian Campus! Smiles, nerves, and excitement fill the air.
Our Year 11 students at Marcellin Campus had the opportunity to have their new tools engraved to begin the school year, with support from Marcellin teacher Mr Bradley Clennett.
Having personalised tools not only adds a touch of individuality but also helps our students with easy identification and responsible ownership.
Our Magic Harvest in Schools program is off to a great start for 2024! The Cana Building students in Years 3 and 4 were pleasantly surprised when they observed their Homegroup’s veggie plot growing cucumbers, corn, tomatoes, zucchini, green and purple beans, pumpkins, and an abundance of basil! Perfect way to start the summer/warltati (Kaurna language) season of growing.
In the heart of Galilee, there's a furry angel named Milo. With soulful eyes and a gentle spirit, he's known as the wellbeing dog. Milo is almost 8 months old! He brings joy and comfort to everyone he meets.
Evelyn, a Year 7 student at Marian, is making waves in the swimming world. At just 11 years old, she’s the youngest female swimmer to conquer the 2.2km Jetty to Jetty Long Swim and secured first place in the 400m race at the Brighton Jetty Classic.
She recently moved from Unley Swimming Club to Southern Performance to balance her academics and swimming.
As Evelyn continues to excel in her swimming endeavours, we celebrate her remarkable success and eagerly anticipate her continued growth and achievements in this challenging sport. Well done, Evelyn!
Marian Campus opened its doors to new parents/caregivers for the eagerly anticipated New Family Welcome Night.
The evening commenced with an atmosphere of excitement as families gathered to receive a warm welcome and valuable support for their children's educational journey. Parents and caregivers of Year 7 students, as well as newcomers from Years 8-12, were invited to partake in this event.
The college saw the enthusiastic participation of families, who had the opportunity to connect with the school community and build partnerships. Student Leaders offered guidance and assistance throughout the night, ensuring that everyone felt at ease.
We congratulate Year 12 student and 2024 Mission Captain Jasmine Dillon, who was awarded a scholarship in recognition of her dedication to her community, leadership, and active participation in various school activities, including music and community service.
Awarded by the Knights of the Southern Cross reflecting their commitment to youth development and community service, the scholarships aim to support students in their educational pursuits.
The scholarships were awarded following the Australia Day Mass held jointly by the Knights of the Southern Cross, the Catholic Women’s League, and the Therry Society. The event included a procession symbolising national and cultural unity, and speakers highlighted the importance of inclusivity and healing in the nation.

Marian Campus parents are invited to attend the Year 12 Parent Information Night which is being held next Tuesday 13 February at 7pm in the College Gym. The night will provide information about supporting your child as they undertake their Year 12 studies. We will discuss information around SACE, outline the special events for Year 12s in 2024, clarify the many supports we offer for all Year 12s this year and introduce key staff. Special guest Kirrilie Smout, from Developing Minds will also be speaking. As a Clinical Psychologist, Kirrilie will be running three sessions with year 12s this year on the topics of self-regulated learning, active learning & revision and managing stress.
The evening is for parents and caregivers. Year 12 students are not required to attend.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Aaron Westgarth.
It is with great excitement we share with Year 9 Marian and Galilee parents/caregivers that, for the first time, Year 9 students will participate in ‘The Rite Journey’. This is a program that nurtures and supports adolescents to better understand their unique gifts and talents and prepare them for the world of adulthood.
Unlike any other school program, The Rite Journey involves parents/caregivers in the learning process through a series of ceremonies designed to celebrate this important time in your young person’s life.
As such, we invite you to attend ‘The Rite Journey Parent/Caregiver Parent Information session’ on Tuesday 20 February in the College Gym. Parents are asked to arrive at 6:45pm for a 7:00pm start. We are thrilled to share that Andrew Lines, creator and director of The Rite Journey will be present to launch the program.
We look forward to seeing you at this important event. Please note your child does not need to attend this information session. If you have any questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact either Wade Champion, Nicole Brown, or your child’s Rite Journey teacher, on 8392 9500.
We welcome Arlo Draper, who joins us as the new Student Mentor at Marcellin Campus. Arlo is no stranger to Cardijn College, having completed his primary education at the Galilee Campus and his senior education at the Marian Campus.
Following his graduation in 2021, Arlo achieved his dream to be drafted to the Collingwood Football Club in Melbourne, where he played professional football for two years before concluding his time with Collingwood in late 2023.
Now back home in South Australia, Arlo is excited to be contributing to student development in the school environment. In his new role, Arlo will be actively involved in a diverse range of activities, including classroom support, relationship building, offering valuable advice and insights, as well as lending a hand in sports-related activities.
Reflecting on his return, Arlo shares, “I'm grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the Cardijn community, where I experienced firsthand the care and commitment the college offers. I'm enthusiastic about the prospects of learning and growing in this role, and I'm honoured to be part of the Cardijn community at the Marcellin Campus.”
As we kickstart this term now is a great time to stock up on school uniforms.
Maybe your child has just experienced a growth spurt, or perhaps you're seeking to avoid the challenge of staying ahead of weekly wash cycles? Our Second-Hand Uniform Shops are fully stocked and ready to cater to your family's needs.
Stop by and discover a treasure trove of gently used uniforms waiting for a new home. Our selection includes sizes to accommodate every student. Plus, by shopping second-hand, you're not only saving money but contributing to sustainable clothing practices.

It has been great to welcome our students back to Cardijn for the 2024 school year!
The second week is traditionally smoother than the first as students start to develop new relationships, immerse themselves in their classes and become familiar with their timetables, teachers and new learning environments.
I have the privilege of seeing all three campuses in action and whilst they are all unique, they are all doing sensational things and offering wonderful opportunities to our students. At Galilee there is a joy and buzz in the air, particularly as students explore their beautiful environment and move into classrooms which have been carefully created by their teachers to support and stimulate their learning. I must say, the new reception students on their first day were particularly cute!
At Marcellin the sense of community is especially evident. Staff and students truly know each other and there is a sense of belonging and partnership as these students work towards their pathway and some incredible employment opportunities.
At Marian, there has been a sense of calm. Whilst the Marian Campus is large, with many students, the move in 2023 to Middle and Senior school structures has further strengthened the sense of community amongst our students, underpinned by the House system - a key pillar of what Cardijn is all about.
Our 40th anniversary year is set to be a good one and we look forward to working in partnership with you to encourage, support and enable our students to live faithfully and with integrity.. in Our Cardijn Way!
